SHOW THE LOVE – A countdown to Valentine’s Day

I love that February is a month that we really have the opportunity to tell our families how much we truly love them. I think throughout the year we get busy going and doing, that we don’t pause very often to tell each person how we feel. This past year, I have learned to NEVER let a minute pass us by and to ALWAYS make sure that those people around us KNOW that we love them.

I wanted to start a tradition last year for Laila’s first Valentine’s Day and saw the idea of putting hearts on your child’s door every morning with things you love about them beginning February 1st until Valentine’s Day. I loved the idea and just added a little extra spice to it! I thought it was a cute idea for kids, but so cute for my husband too!! So I did it for both of them. I also wrapped their doors in wrapping paper to add a little sparkle!

I LOVE this tradition! It was fun for me to sit down and think about everything that I love about my two best friends. It actually made me realize how many good qualities they both have and how grateful I am for them! My mom was even visiting us for a few days in February, so I also made her hearts for her door to wake up to as well. It was fun to celebrate with her and to make even our guest feel the love!

We all love to be complimented and hear the things that others like about us! So take the time this coming month to show your family how much they mean to you. It may take some time if you have a bigger family, but it is so worth it. Do it for your husband who may need to hear that he is doing a good job, your teenager in High School who may need to know you are proud of them, your children in Elementary School who may need a little more confidence and even your baby who has no idea what any of this means. I know that through showing our love to our families, we can make EVERY day, the BEST day for them!
