5 Ways To Take Care Of You

I love that we are all so different. We all have so many different trials & heartaches. We also all have so many different miracles & things that bring us joy. As I have been thinking the past few weeks about taking care of ourselves & truly loving who we are – I jotted down a few ways that you can take care of the most important person in your life… and that my friend is… YOU!

You see, self-love is not selfish like many may think. The truth is, is that you cannot truly love another until you know how to love yourself. Read that again, but a little slower this time. You can NOT truly love another….until you KNOW how to LOVE yourself. I love it. And it is 100% truth.

Today I am SO excited to partner up with GLEEM to share with you guys 5 ways to take care of YOU! Often times we are the LAST people on our “to-do” list, when in reality, every day we should be spending a little bit of time on improving our self and loving who we are MORE.

1. SCHEDULE IN TIME FOR YOURSELF: I am a planner! To be honest, if I have to do something and I don’t write it down – it ‘aint happening! I am a scheduler and every single day I have my list of things to do all planned out – down to the TIMES! I have learned to schedule time for myself every single day. Whether that is in the morning before the kids wake up, so enjoy some quite mama time. Or to go to the gym. Or to go for a run outside {now that the weather is warming up! YES!!}. Or take a bath. Or watch a show. If I schedule in the TIME and know that that is MY time for me – I make it happen. And it’s been a game changer!

2. GET RID OF THE GUILT: It is so natural to feel a little guilty in having “you time” when you feel like you have WAY more important things to get done. But guess what?! That list can wait. And you can do something for you GUILT FREE! I am giving you permission. Taking the time for YOU will only help you be better at your things to do list – and will make you a happier person, resulting in being more productive later.

3. INVEST IN YOUR HEALTH: Your health is so important. Everything you do to it & put inside of it is vital. Get your body moving. Make good eating choices. Shower & take baths. Keep good hygiene. Go to the doctor & dentist for checkups. And take your vitamins!

5. CREATE A GRATITUDE JOURNAL: Often times we get lost in the things we wish we had or wish we did – but as we switch our mindset to GRATITUDE for the things we DO have, it will change our lives. Find a notebook or journal and at the end of every day before you fall asleep, right out 3 things that you are thankful for that day. Sometimes that might be a MAJOR thing and sometimes they might be super simple – but having a grateful heart is one of the greatest things you can do for yourself.
