If it were up to my husband, ALL of these Fashion Tips would be about skater and boy clothes. In fact, a few months ago we were at the mall shopping and Tyson said, “We need to get Laila a “COOL” shirt.” I had several outfits in my hands for her at the moment that I thought were cool and I quickly replied, “I agree! That is why we are getting her these cute shirts!” He said that the items I was holding weren’t cool and that HE would show me what “cool” meant.
I was a little puzzled. This was coming from my husband who wears nothing but DC clothes and an occasional Crossfit T-shirt, outside of his nice work clothes. A few minutes went by and I found him in the LITTLE BOY section… holding a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle shirt. He ran up to me with the shirt in his hands and said, “THIS is COOL!” Needless to say, we purchased it and you will sometimes see Laila rockin’ a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Shirt around town. 🙂
That isn’t the only “cool” shirt Laila owns. After that moment, I realized the importance of letting my husband help dress her. He likes to be a part of it too – and honestly, I have learned that you can make ANYTHING cute on a baby!
Fashion Tip #14 is Daddy’s Choice. Every Tuesday Night Laila and Tyson have a daddy/daughter night where they go out and do something fun. So I let him choose what she wears those nights and I fancy them up to make them a little girlie!
Laila is wearing a DC shirt from the DC store and DC shoes from ROSS! They have several pairs of DC’s for little kids there for great prices! To make the outfit a little more girlie, I added these white lace shorts by H&M and a big white bow!
I think it is so fun to sometimes let your husband dress the baby how he wants. It makes them feel a little part of the team! There are a lot of different ways you can fancy up “the boy look” for girls – tie a knot in the front and add a bow! It doesn’t get much more girly than that!
Next time you are out with your husband, let HIM choose an outfit for you baby. It is fun to see what they think is “cool” and honestly it is kind of fun to mix up their look sometimes! A daddy’s girl sometimes needs to dress like daddy!
