“So… what do YOU like to do?”
All eyes were on me and my mind was completely blank.
Ummm… I like…to… be… a mom? I answered, but questioned myself slowly.
It was at that moment that I realized that my life revolved around my baby girl!
“What do I like to do?! What in the world are my hobbies?!” I was questioning myself in my head.
All I could think about was the fact that I’m a MOM! And it’s my favorite thing EVER.
Was that a good enough answer? Was that a bad thing?!
I looked at my friend across the table and replied, “My hobbies? You want to know what I like to do?”
Well, let me tell you. In fact, let me tell you what ALL moms like to do:
1. Moms like to go to the bathroom alone, without an audience.
2. And they like to sit in complete silence.
3. Moms like clean diapers and poop in the potty.
4. And moms like to shower without interruption.
5. And I should probably mention they double like the chances they get to wash their hair while in there.
6. Moms like to party! And by party I mean take naps.
7. They like the five minutes once a month when the laundry basket is completely empty.
8. And the sound of the dishwasher running with nothing in the sink.
9. Moms like quiet toys and happy kids.
10. And they like to go to Target.
11. While at Target they like shopping for themselves, but like even MORE to end up spending all of their money on things for their kids.
12. Mom like to cheer at soccer games, basketball games and dance recitals.
13. They like to play taxi driver, host parties with friends and experience Pinterest fails.
14. Moms like healthy kids, tantrum-free moments and snuggles on the couch.
15. Moms like to get away…
16. But they like when it’s time to come home even MORE because while they are away, they miss their kids too much.
17. They like to watch Disney movies, sing the ABC’s, read books, do puzzles and play dress up.
18. They like peaceful grocery store outings.
19. And moments when they only run 5 minutes late – rather than 30.
20. Moms like bed time.
21. And goodnight kisses.
22. Actually… they like kisses all the time.
23. Moms like random “I love you’s”
24. And little arms around their neck.
25. They like to sneak in their kids room while they are sleeping just to see their peaceful cute faces.
26. Moms love to get five consecutive hours of sleep.
27. And they like to fall asleep as soon as their head hits a pillow because they are so exhausted from their busy day.
28. And honestly? Moms like to be MOMS. And EVERYTHING that comes with it.

So many of the basic things like bathroom breaks and showers and silence is so appreciated. Those things may be few and far between, but the love and “I Love you’s” from the your babies is priceless. Thanks for a great post!
